MER Clinic: Speed Matching Locomotives with DCC

The most flexibility in operations comes when you can intermix any locomotive from any manufacturer in a consist, and have these locomotives set to a common maximum prototypical speed. This clinic describes and demonstrates the construction of a small square layout that is used along with a special script running in JMRI to speed match various locomotives. The script uses the layout to determine the proper values for the decoder’s speed tables, and then writes those values to the decoder.
